Are We Headed For Disaster in 2012?

Everyone wants to know how the world would come to an end in the year 2012. The internet is bombarded with questions and theories on how it is going to happen. Even researchers have discovered that all the predictions are pointing to the same date 21st of December 2012. And there is the question of what would happen after that day. Will there be any survivors? However before we look at that, let us see how the past has an impact on our future.

1. The prediction by Nostradamus

Any prediction by Nostradamus has drawn attention across the world. The predictions have been accurate and hence frightening. Nostradamus has predicted not just the major events of the century but has also predicted the appointment of leaders of the world. While the 11th September 2001 was predicted already by him, the world was still shocked with the event.

The end of the world would happen in the most horrifying and terrifying way. The I-Ching prophecy and the Mayans were terrified on the predictions made many years before. The predictions of Merlin coincide with that of Mayans. Mayans predicted that the sun rising on 21st December 2012 will be in perfect alignment with the milky way's black hole. Even today's astronomers agree with this fact.

Hopi are also of the same belief as the Mayans. They also believe that the previous 3 worlds which resided on planet earth did not respect nature and ended up destroyed. It would be earthquakes, then Ice Age and then it would be the Great Flood.

4. Society would be more chaotic with violence, wars and general panic.

5. There will be scarcity for water, medicines, nutrition and food.

6. Poles could shift magnetically or even geographically.

So there you have it, the prophets have spoken and it appears they don't give us much of a chance. Although there appears to be evidence that something will happen on December 21, 2012, what exactly and how severe that might be is purely speculation. To me it's a big leap to think someone or something can predict the future. For those of us that will feed into this speculation only ad fuel to the fire of fear. I say we investigate as much as possible so we know the facts and can form our own educated opinion.
