Look at this chart of China’s oil demand growth …

Projecting out the historical rate of Chinese oil consumption growth over the next decade gives another 8-9mbd of Chinese demand by 2020. 

The Chinese seem to be aware of and preparing for this. While President Obama’s recent speech on energy outlines steps we can take in the right direction, America seems to be woefully behind in this game.
