To our friends who pray for and support us financially in our ministry to Bantayan Island, we sincerely thank you for all that you are doing for us on an ongoing basis. Without the continued monthly support of people just like you, it would not be possible for us to return to Bantayan Island in the next few months to continue our ministry to the people who need our help so desperately.
Like many of you, I have been following the events in Japan with great interest and many prayers. The needs of the people on this island community are also great and their suffering is unimaginable. Whenever we see events like these in Japan, it reminds us that there are people all over the world who really need our help. Because of the great amount of news coverage on the major networks, Japan has been receiving a tremendous amount of financial and human aid. We are grateful to the Lord that He has called so many thousands of people around the world to send their help to these people who are worthy of as much assistance as we can give them.
There are however, no major news agencies, or world-wide networks that are helping the desperate people on Bantayan Island. For now Marissa and I are their only voice that continues to cry out for their deliverance and assistance. The only method that we have to find help for our island friends, is to write articles each month, publish photo’s, videos and maintain our web sites, that allow a few dozen people to come alongside us and help the people we have grown to love.
If you were able to walk along the white sand beaches of Bantayan Island and speak with these dear friends, your heart would immediately be broken and you would find yourself in tears at the conditions these humble people live under. The homes that they live in are barely shelter at all. They lack running water, indoor plumbing, toilets, sinks, or even an indoor place to cook their food.
They live on the meager fish that they can catch just offshore of Bantayan Island, and the rice that they can purchase by gathering discarded plastic that they sell for a few pennies.
When we give your donations to these dear people, you cannot imagine the joy that swells up in their faces. When they are told that the reason we are there and giving to them is that the Lord told us to “Help them”, they break down in tears. They tell us that they have been praying for years for the Lord to send someone to help them. On the first few occasions that we walked into the remote villages of the island, the people asked my Filipina wife Marissa, why I was there talking to them. It seems that no foreigner from any other country, not even their own native Filipino countrymen, had ever come to their island to help any of these people.
This is why we are committed to return to Bantayan Island as soon as we have enough financial resources, to spend the rest of our lives helping as many on this island, as we possibly can.
Your monthly financial support makes it possible to touch the lives of people that no one else in all the world is helping. Remember that Jesus said that when we help the “Least of these”, we are doing these things to Him. When we love people like these that no one else is loving, we are loving Him.
Matthew 25:40 And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
We hope that others will read and learn about these desperate people and that they can make such a huge difference in the lives of people that have no one else to help them. We pray that those of you who are helping us each month will continue in prayers for us and in your financial offerings.

Thank you again for what you are presently doing to help. It really means so much to us to know that we have a team of people who care as much for Bantayan Island as we do and are showing their commitment by supporting the work each month.
We are making tremendous progress in our preparations to return to Bantayan Island and it may be that we will be able to depart the United States in July rather than October, if everything continues to progress as it is presently.
We will keep you up to date on our progress and hope to be on the ground at Bantayan Island in just 4 more months.
