Inspired by Mussolini?

As a result of Mussolini’s determination to build an Italian colonial showcase in Africa, Asmara has one of the highest concentrations of Modernist architecture in the world. Government offices, cinemas, even petrol stations are coloured with pastel shades, and built in a simplified but monumental style.
