Constituent hit with “hyper-injunction”

An unnamed constituent of an MP was banned from discussing a public health issue with ‘members of Parliament, journalists and lawyers’. John Hemming, a Liberal Democrat MP for Birmingham Yardley, revealed the existence of the gagging orders, dubbed hyper-injunctions, last week during a Parliamentary debate. Mr Hemming was able to reveal the existence of the injunction as a result of Parliamentary privilege.
