(AGI) Tokyo- In addition to the tsunami and current nuclear alarm, the Shinmoedake volcano has erupted after two weeks of dormancy. Ash and projectiles have been spotted in the air four kilometers away local witnesses say. The 1,421 meter high volcano reawakened after 52 years last January, again on March 1, after which followed two weeks of inactivity. It is likely that the acted as a catalyst for the eruption; meanwhile authorities have maintained a level 3 warning (out of 5) and have blocked access to the volcano. .
