Hiding Bad News With Bad News

 

The hacking story dominates the news agenda. Murdoch is hauled before parliament, a whistleblower dies (but not in suspicious circumstances of course), Cameron has to answer uncomfortable questions – all big stuff…

Meanwhile, Nick Ferrari on LBC radio said this morning that the government have announced that to give patients “more choice” private health care is to be provided at local GP clinics, which will be paid for by the NHS. If this isn’t privatisation through the back door, I don’t know what is (despite their protestations that they have no intention of privatising health care) and yet I can find no reference whatsoever to this story online in either the BBC news, The Daily Mail or the Evening Standard. Either Nick Ferrari has got it wrong, or it has been completely squeezed from the news agenda by yesterdays circus in parliament.

They have quietly announced it now, of course, because 1. it will slip under the radar thanks to the hacking scandal furore and 2. because the politicians are all off for their summer recess and fully expect it will all be forgotten about by the time they return. Very likely will be too. They say a week is a long time in politics, so a protracted summer holiday is a very long time indeed.

Also yesterday, the IMF (for those who don’t know what the initials mean they stand for New World Order banking cartel owned and run by Rothschild and his buddies) stated that if the euro crisis reaches Germany and France we’re all doomed. They actually said a lot more than that, but doomed about covers it. But again, this huge story has been knocked from the headlines, even the guy throwing a foam pie at Murdoch apparently warranting more coverage.

Something else that has been hidden from view is the fact that, as bank profits have halved and the euro zone totters on the brink of collapse, the fat cat bankers have given themselves £14 billion in bonuses. They represent 4% of the workers in this country, yet take around 40% of the bonuses paid. Well rewarded for being complete and utter failures, don’t you think? Fuck knows what they would pay themselves if they were successful! Luckily for them and their pet politicians, however, no one has noticed.

Another little thing that slipped by was Cameron admitting that a lot of the aid money we spend gets wasted, but then going on to say that increasing aid to £12 billion per year was essential! Good money after bad, while back at home it’s cut, cut and cut again.

Amazing what doesn’t get heard when only one thing is being shouted about, isn’t it…
